Classic Garcias: Strong, Bare and Shallow in the Bahamas

At Swiftsure Yachts, we love these older Garcia Passoas and are privileged to have sold so many of them over the last 10 years. We’re also happy to see our clients out using them! Here are some great drone photos courtesy of Jayme on the 2005 Garcia Passoa 45 SARGOSARGO recently shared an anchorage with the 2001 Garcia Passoa GRINGO at Man O War Cay in the Bahamas.

Both boats have bare hulls, orange masts, and hard dodgers. We sold SARGO in 2018 in Newburyport, Massachusetts. She’s sailed back and forth between Maine and the Bahamas during the past three years. This summer SARGO will head across the Atlantic to Portugal for an adventure with her Maine-based family. You can check out their adventures at SailingSargo.com.

We helped Barry purchase Gringo, ex Bonaire, in Whangarei, New Zealand in February of 2020. Gringo stayed in New Zealand for a refit including blasting the hull sides of paint, hard dodger installation, and a whole lot more. Due to Covid travel restrictions, Gringo was then shipped to Florida. After a quick visit to the Bahamas, Barry sailed Gringo to Bristol, Rhode Island where she’ll be based for the summer.

  1. I have interest in such boats i.e. shallow draft adventure cruising boats with yacht like finishes. Can you tell me the price range of the recently sold Garcia’s?
