As the North American dealer for Garcia and Allures, we love seeing these rugged aluminum beauties in our hemisphere, but truth be told most owners take delivery at the factory in Cherbourg, France. This gives the builder a chance to make sure all the systems are working perfectly and gives the owner a chance to get to know their new boat before casting off for distant shores.
It also gives Swiftsure Yachts’ own Kevin Bray the chance to ensure the delivery meets everyone’s expectations. An excellent sailor, Kevin manages to set aside some time for filming. As you can see here, Mark Stern’s new Garcia Exploration 45 (hull 24) Wings of Desire had a brisk day for her maiden sail, and her new skipper seems right at home on the helm. The conditions, of course, were very appropriate for the go-anywhere GE45!
