Swiftsure Yachts recently helped broker and ship two yachts that arrived in Victoria, British Columbia on July 17th — a 2020 Leopard 45 catamaran purchased in Grenada and a 2006 Swan 46 purchased in Florida.
The owners were unable to enter Canada due to COVID-19. Yet, entry for commerce is currently allowed, so Pete McGonagle and Molly Howe flew to Roche Harbor, San Juan Island and were ferried to Canada by Ryan Helling aboard Mark Helling’s 12-foot RIB/tender.
Luckily it was a calm afternoon for the Roche Harbor to Sidney crossing. Once checked in with Canadian Customs and Border Protection agents in Sidney, Pete and Molly bused to Victoria where they retrieved the Swan 46 Ayalas (soon to be Little Wing) on Sunday evening and spent the night aboard in front of the iconic Empress Hotel.
On Monday morning the Leopard was unloaded. Molly delivered the Swan 46 to Friday Harbor where owners Brian and Kelsey took over. Pete and Molly then delivered the Leopard 45 to Elliott Bay Marina in Seattle where the new owners, Chad and Jenny, will keep this beautiful new boat.

Great story and pics!
Thanks Mark and thanks for your assistance!
Nicely done – clever workaround of Canada’s restrictions!
TRULY full service, indeed! It started when Ryan Helling shared the Swan listing the day it posted, then Pete McGonagle masked up and guided us through the sea trial and purchasing process, and finally Molly Howe expertly delivered our new boat from Victoria BC for pick-up in the San Juans. Thank you, Swiftsure team. You are amazing! -Kelsey & Brian
