Nautor Swan stepped in as the premier high-quality builder in the 1970s, building boats to a quality, not price, level. The fact that so many are still sailing today around the world stands as testimony to their quality. The company also has had a knack for picking the right designer at the right time. In 1983, that was German Frers. Tranquillité is hull number 37 of 46, launched in June 1985. The current, second owner, has had the boat for more than 30 years.

Frers’ elegant curves were executed perfectly by Nautor, with the wedge shaped house with the famous blue accent. The teak decks come together giving the classic Swan look. Tranquillité has the tall double spreader Nautor built rig and standard deep keel, giving her the power to sail well in any conditions. Dual genoa tracks, a removable mid-stay and runners provide excellent sailing options and control. Tranquillité has competed and won, including winning the 2004 Vic-Maui Race on corrected time.

Below decks Tranquillité features the standard Swan interior, with a large a comfortable aft cabin with an island double. The renowned Nautor woodwork remains beautiful. The galley, navigation station and main salon are all spacious and complete. There are two heads, one for the aft stateroom and one forward. Forward there are upholstered and comfortable fold-up berths, providing both storage and comfortable sleeping.
