Meet Summerwind…
A boat like this doesn’t come to market often! Original owners, professionally maintained, never been chartered, turn-key ready, and low hours. Designed by J&J Design and built in Germany by Bavaria Yachtbau, the Bavaria 42 Cruiser was a very successful model and still remains popular with sailing couples or families looking for a safe, capable and reliable cruising platform that offers reliable sailing performance at one of the best overall values on the market.
Located in Sidney, BC, this Canadian registered vessel is ready for her next adventures in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. This vessel has received a recent rigging inspection and marine survey. Deficiencies have been rectified and reports are available to serious inquiries.
If you have been seeking a bright and lively 3-cabin interior within a proven, well-built, German-engineered hull, be sure to see Summerwind. In this condition, she won’t last long.

LAYOUT: Bright and spacious. With plenty of overhead skylights, opening hatches and large portlights, the interior is flooded with natural light and ventilation when desired. The brightly varnished mahogany and lighter shade of upholstery go a long way to brighten the interior. Even on the cloudiest of PNW days, Summerwind provides a warm, cozy and relaxing haven to pass the time. The saloon is plentiful for a couple, and yet still comfortable for everyone when guests arrive. A true “family boat”, the 3-cabin layout offers enough storage and elbow room for comfortable cruising, even when you are sharing space with friends and family. Well thought-out storage and access to systems in one of Bavaria’s hallmarks, and this boat will not disappoint. The linear galley to port offers easy access to storage and meal prep in a very ergonomic layout, and balances well with the offset table and settee to starboard. A day head with integrated shower is accessible from the saloon and located at the base of the companionway for easy disrobing and drying of wet foul-weather gear. The double aft cabins are equally allocated. The real gem of this layout is the massive owner’s suite situated forward of the main bulkhead. You will enjoy a centerline island queen bed with side access steps, large wardrobe lockers, hull side windows and your own personal ensuite with integrated shower. If you are moving up from as smaller boat, the floorspace in the owner’s cabin will feel like a dance floor. A large, forward facing navigation station is an ideal command center for the boat, with plenty of storage within arm’s reach. The engine room is accessed not only through the easily lifting steps, but also full-size removable bulkheads on both sides, providing quick and easy access to all sides of the engine.
