The Passport 40 is one of Robert Perry’s most enduring and popular designs. It has been on the short list for long range passagemakers and coastal cruises since her introduction in 1980. With moderate displacement, deeper forefoot transitioning into a cruising fin keel, and skeg hung rudder, sailing the Passport is a comfortable, well balanced, sea kindly experience. The interior layout is a smooth flowing and sensible two stateroom configuration with a large U-shaped galley, fore and aft cabins with ample hanging locker and storage space, along with comfortably sized berths. Her main salon is spacious with an L-shaped settee on port surrounding a large salon table.

The Erin Elizabeth has many current upgrades including:

New mainsail with stack pack and genoa (2014)

New running rigging (2014)

Interior Accommodations
Below decks, Erin Elizabeth features the desirable V-berth forward with head compartment and separate stall shower aft to port. Her interior is of hand crafted, furniture quality, satin varnished solid teak staving. Locker doors are also hand crafted with arched frames and louvered faces for ventilation. Cabin doors are solid teak with raised floating panels and bottom louvers, again contributing to the excellent ventilation through out the yacht. The thick teak and holly sole, stainless steel opening ports, two fixed cabin side windows and four opening overhead hatches all contribute to her warm and inviting interior.

Starting at the companion way, immediately to starboard is a large quarter cabin with secure double berth, ensuite hide a way head, vanity sink and large hanging locker. Ample floor space and head room exists for changing in privacy. Lockers and shelves up and outboard allow for additional storage.

Opposite of the aft stateroom is the large Passport 40 signature galley. This is U-shaped with the well insulated top and front loading refrigerator and separate top loading freezer. Above the refrigerator/freezer is a microwave oven. Outboard is the 4 burner Mariner gimbaled propane stove and oven. The deep stainless steel sink is forward and near the centerline. This is fitted with pressure hot and cold water and manual foot pumps for both salt and fresh water. Outboard of the sink is a very large top load locker and additional front load locker. An additional top load locker is inboard of the sink with a bank of drawers under.

Forward of the galley is an L-shaped dinette with the straight settee opposite to starboard. The dinette table encloses the very well insulated engine compartment, has a large hinged leaf, built in drawers on the inboard side of the table and has three access doors to the engine room.. The table top is removable and can be lifted up to provide top access to the engine. Engine access is among the best of any boat. Forward of the starboard settee is a Dickinson “Alaska” diesel fired heater (2017) that keeps the boat warm on those chilly evenings.

At the aft end of the starboard settee is a very nice aft facing navigation station with large chart table, shelves, drawers and a custom distribution panel. Her electronics are all easily accessible, professionally installed.

Forward to port is the large walk-in head compartment and stainless steel sink outboard set in a black quartz counter. A mirrored medicine cabinet is above and a large locker below the sink. The separate stall shower forward of the sink and head offers plenty of elbow room. It also has a teak seat and teak grating in the floor. To starboard of the head are storage and hanging lockers as well as a large bank of drawers.

Forward is the owners stateroom with large offset double V berth, tons of locker space and a huge dry storage area under the berth. Ventilation and light in this cabin is excellent.
Galley
Located at bottom of companionway steps. This large U-shaped galley has more that ample storage behind louvered lockers, in dry storage bins, numerous drawers and a microwave in the aft bulkhead of the galley. The Frigoboat refrigerator/freezer (2016) has both a top and front loading feature. There is a Mariner 4-burner propane stove / oven / broiler. The deep double stainless steel sinks have a modern faucet with a pull out wand, hot and cold pressure water, and foot pumps for salt and fresh water. The countertop has a white tile surface.
