The Norseman 447 is a proven offshore cruising yacht designed by naval architect Bob Perry, whose name is synonymous with capable and balanced bluewater sailboats. Perry’s portfolio includes a long list of successful cruising designs known for their performance, comfort, and seaworthiness, and the Norseman 447 stands out as one of his most respected designs. Built by the renowned Ta Shing shipyard in Taiwan, the 447 features a solid fiberglass hull, skeg-hung rudder, and moderate displacement—hallmarks of Perry’s approach to designing ocean-capable cruisers. The Norseman 447 has earned a well-deserved reputation among serious sailors for its ability to cross oceans safely and comfortably, blending traditional construction values with thoughtful, performance-oriented design.
INDARA has proven her abilities with extensive cruising throughout the Pacific Northwest, down the Pacific coast to Panama, and back. She has been thoughtfully upgraded and carefully maintained, with systems and equipment kept in top condition for offshore reliability. With her cutter rig, strong fiberglass hull, and practical center cockpit layout, she remains a standout example of the Norseman 447’s versatility and enduring quality.
