Kahalani is a classic Lyman 25 Sleeper in excellent condition. She has been maintained by Jensen Motorboat Company in Seattle for the last six years and stored in a covered slip at Stimson Marina in Ballard. She was delivered new to Seattle. Her original owner of three decades was a professional marine finisher. Kahalani has been consistently well-maintained and mechanically upgraded.
Seller has upgraded to a larger boat and is looking for a new custodian for this classic cruiser.

Deck & Hull
Kahalani has a dark blue lapstrake hull with red boot stripe and black bottom paint. The bow and hulls sides are flared making this a very dry boat in waves. A stainless steel rub strip is fastened to the entire deck/hull edge to protect the hull sides from pilings and docks. The transom is varnished bright. The curved/engraved nameboard is fastened to the upper transom. Kahalani’s decks are painted off white. A low profile toe rail surrounds the foredeck. A round, hinged hatch in the foredeck ventilates the cabin.

Mechanical & Electrical Systems
The Chris Craft Model 350Q – V8 250 hp engine was remanufactured in 2005 to current standards allowing it to use modern gasoline. The engine starts easily, runs smoothly, does not smoke, or vibrate. Fuel consumption is claimed to be 11gph at 33 knots/full speed, 6 gph at 18 knots, and 2.5 gph at 7 knots. The engine is fresh water cooled with a salt/freshwater heat exchanger. Sound down insulation lines the engine box minimizing engine noise.

Construction
The Lyman 25 is Mahogany plywood lapstrake over oak frames and Douglas fir stringers. Laps are bonded with 3M 5200 for strength and sealing of leaks.
Accommodation
Kahalani was ordered new with custom storage cabinets aft of the forward seats; features on the Lyman 25 Cruisette. The cockpit is very large and easy to move about. The cockpit sole was just painted brown and the plywood sole panels are easily remove to access bilge areas. The engine is mounted in the center of the boat, nicely trimming this cruiser. The engine box is painted in brown with a hinged cover for quick fluid checks. The entire engine box lifts out of the way for maintenance. This box is lined with Sounddown foam/acoustical insulation. The engine box is another comfortable seat in the cockpit. A bench seat aft runs full beam. New white vinyl cockpit cushions with blue piping were just made by Mac’s Upholstery in Ballard.
The forward cockpit seats are well sheltered by the windshield and canvas top and zippered side panels. For cold weather, panel can be zipped on aft of the top to enclose the forward cockpit. A red dot engine heater warms this space on cold days.
A small cabin is forward. A hinged door and hinged top close this space. Battery-powered LED lights are fastened to the overhead. A Raritan marine head is below a hinged cover on centerline and discharges to a holding tank.
