In 2001, Hallberg-Rassy began building the HR43; the first in a new generation of Frers-designed cruisers with a significant improvement in sailing performance over the prior generation Frers-designed Hallberg-Rassy 42. The new design benefits from extra waterline length, increased volume aft, greater form stability, more efficient keel and rudder, and increased sail area. This is most notable in light air where the increased power and easier driven hull will really be apparent to anyone who has sailed on an older Hallberg-Rassy design. Relative to the Hallberg-Rassy 42F, the cockpit is larger and deeper. The aft stateroom is massive- larger than on an Hallberg-Rassy 46. The forward stateroom has an impressive array of storage lockers and the forward head has a huge separate, stall shower. With 150 Hallberg-Rassy 43s built between 2001 and 2008, this model is recognized as a modern offshore cruising classic.
OCEAN RHYTHM is a well equipped Hallberg-Rassy 43, featuring a new Volvo D2-75 diesel, recent Webasto diesel heater, Raymarine electronics and Spectra watermaker, power mainsail furling and winches, and bow thruster. Her interior is in spectacular condition and showcases the care she has received over her lifetime.

Deck & Hull
Ocean Rhythm’s hull is white gel coat with blue sheer, boot, and coaming stripes. The keel is an external lead casting bolted to a sloped fiberglass keel stub. The hull and deck are insulated with closed cell foam. The fiberglass decks and coachroof are overlaid with teak and black rubber with a teak caprail on raised bulwark and teak handrails on the coachroof. A molded in rub rail capped with stainless protects the hull on both sides. Ocean Rhythm is fitted with a factory installed hard dodger. Under the dodger to port and starboard are teak chart tables suitable for navigation equipment and chart layout. The center window opens to provide ventilation and lights below the dodger illuminate the cockpit at night. A large cockpit lazarette with stowage for companionway wash boards is under the starboard cockpit settee. There are D-rings in the cockpit to attach to tethers. The cockpit sole is a teak grate. There are two large drains in the cockpit. On deck stowage is in four lockers. Forward is a top opening chain locker with shelf and room for fenders, lines and other gear. Aft, a large locker located in the stern is accessed by two deck hatches. The propane locker is located on the starboard side deck. All lockers drain overboard. Stainless stanchions, push pit and pulpit are connected by double lifelines with opening gates, port, starboard and aft. There is an integrated swim step on the transom with a stainless steel ladder. The radar, deck spotlight and outboard motor lift are mounted on the stainless mast at the port quarter. Kato dinghy davits allow the dinghy to be raised from the water.
