Gray Eagle is a lightly used, one owner 2019 Beneteau Oceanis 41.1 with less than 275 hours on the 45 hp Yanmar diesel. This popular cruising sailboat features a two cabin, one head layout with additional crew capacity on the double berth salon conversion. Her classic mahogany joinery gives the space a rich and warm feel, while the brightness of Marlin Weiss light colored upholstery and carbon-colored wall coverings provide a modern finish. A bonus, this particular Beneteau Oceanis model has the coveted “garage”, a perfect place to store the brand new Doyle Sails AP A2 asymmetrical spinnaker and other toys.

Optimized for comfort and safety, Gray Eagle has all the right features to make your time on the water fun and memorable. Factory heat, microwave, electric head, extra water tank, cockpit cushions, complete B&G electronics, bow thruster and electric windlass are just a few of her highlights. This is a rare opportunity for a fortunate sailor or family who truly appreciates the ‘like new’ condition of a modern cruiser from naval architects Finot-Conq and Nauta Design. Just add a dinghy and you’ll be set to explore the waters and islands of the Salish Sea.

Interior Accommodations

The interior of Gray Eagle is finished in mahogany Alpi wood, parquet type laminated floors, gray “carbon” padded panels and white Marlin Weiss cushions that compliment and extenuate the Oceanis 41.1’s design. Her spacious two stateroom, one head layout with a separate shower stall can easily and comfortably accommodate four adults, but take up to six with the double berth saloon conversion in place.

Starting forward, the spacious owner’s stateroom has a single or double door entry. It is nearly a third of the interior space and has a generous amount of storage. The bunk is a centerline island berth that is on a slatted bed base and measures 6’ 7”. This cabin also boasts three overhead hatches and two portlights, which let in a generous amount of light, and two reading lights to supplement visibility after the sun sets. The cabin has two hanging lockers, plus one large tip-out storage bin under the bed and a headboard mirror.

The main salon comfortably accommodates a number of guests and feels much larger than her 40-foot waterline should allow, and her 6’ 4” headroom will be comfortable for the crew. Along the starboard side is a long U-shaped settee surrounding the dining table. Storage lockers and open shelves lay outboard above the settees with the large salon windows above them. Just aft of the settee is a storage cabinet with wine bottle storage or other pantry items. On the port side is a loveseat.

The L-shaped galley is on the port side with the top loading freezer and front-loading fridge wrapping into the center of the boat providing extra countertop space. The gimbaled two-burner stove and oven is along the hull with the single basin sink and single lever faucet. Above them is storage spanning the length of the galley with sliding and hinged doors to hold items in place while underway. The microwave oven is nestled in behind a cabinet door and is easily accessed.

The aft head is opposite the galley to starboard and is accessible through a door in the main salon or the starboard stateroom. The sink and electric toilet are in the first compartment with the shower stall forward, separated by an acrylic door. The crisp white countertops are easy to clean and the overhead lighting and portlights add brightness to the space. Ample storage is outboard behind the mirrors.

The starboard stateroom is aft of the head and features a generous sized quarter berth with a slatted bed base that’s comfortable for two people at 6’ 9” long. The aft facing tinted window, overhead hatch and outboard portlight allow for lots of natural light into the space. Each has privacy shades to keep the cabin cooler on hot summer days. A large hanging locker is outboard.

The companionway leads from the cockpit into the cabin at a relaxed 45° angle.

Deck and Hull

Gray Eagle is finished with gray gel coat on her hull with the Beneteau cove stripe and single black boot stripe at the waterline. Her bottom was last painted in 2022 and her zincs were replaced in July.

Forward there is a double stainless bow roller, pulpit and double lifelines that carry all the way aft to the pushpit with gates on the starboard and port sides. The electric windlass is recessed into the foredeck with access to the anchor locker below. Just aft and separated by a bulkhead is a bow locker with space for sails, fenders and cruising toys you may want to bring along. The raised coach roof cabin top is cleanly laid out with simple stainless handholds, recessed deck hatches and line organizers running all halyards aft to the cockpit. The mainsheet is arch-mounted keeping the cockpit free of clutter and placing the purchase well aft on the boom for maximum leverage. The large spacious cockpit is equipped with twin wheels, insulated drop leaf cockpit table and open access to the stern platform. Two primary winches flank each wheel allowing the helmsperson to trim. The teak covered cockpit seats provide a great lounge space while under way and LED lighting in the arch lets the party go on into the evening while at anchor with friends.

A pushbutton at the starboard helm controls the swim platform electric lift. When up, the platform closes the transom. When down, the platform transforms into a huge, water-level swim step. A liferaft locker is on centerline. Additional hatches aft of each helm access large stern storage lockers. A propane locker is recessed into the cockpit sole adjacent to the life raft locker.
