If blue water sailing adventures are in your future or in your dreams, Grand Large Yachting (GLY) will help you prepare. The company is bringing its renowned educational seminar to the United States for the first time on Saturday, February 17, 2024, during the Miami International Boat Show.
Having built a reputation over two decades as ocean-going sailboat builders of leading brands, service specialists and educators, Grand Large Yachting’s mission is to help experienced or beginning sailors to realize their sailing dreams in a safe and confident way. The company’s passion for the ocean also guides clients to respect the power and vulnerability of the world’s oceans as a natural resource, and as a pathway to discover new horizons.
The one-day course will be held on February 17, at the Curated Show Room, a vintage supercar collection, at 2100 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33137, from 8 am – 5 pm. The event will include engaging presentations, conversations and educational programs over coffee, lunch and beverages. The cost is $350. To register or for questions, contact: y.leroux@grandlargeservices.com or visit bluewaterseminar.eventmaker.io/fr.
“We are pleased to bring the international sailing expertise of Grand Large Yachting to the U.S. for the first time and help educate our customers and new friends on the adventures that await them!” says Ryan Helling, partner at Swiftsure Yachts and dealer for GLY.
Experts, including experienced sailors who can relay their experiences and relate to your questions, will lead the seminar. Some of the questions to be answered are:
- Is blue water sailing right for me?
- Where and how do we start to prepare?
- How do we provision?
- How do we plan our navigation and destinations?
- My partner is ready, but I’m not sure if I am—how can I know?
The presenters will address the main topics to consider in long-distance cruising—weather, routes, budgeting, self-care, provisioning, packing and will help clarify the preparations, answering specific questions and sharing a wealth of experience to transform the dream of sailing into a reality. Among the experts are Anita and Knut Skauan, a Norwegian couple living in Brazil who sailed their Outremer 45, Maïs Uma over 6 years. After exploring the world in a unique way, they will share their stories and answer questions. Their website is www.sailingmaisuma.com
