KIND OF BLUE received new engines in 2021 by Gallery Marine. She is clean and well maintained and has been stored under cover in fresh water since 2013.
The Glacier Bay 3480 Ocean Runner is an impressive power catamaran built for serious offshore cruising and exceptionally well-suited to the varied demands of Pacific Northwest waters. Her twin-hull design offers outstanding stability, fuel efficiency, and a soft, quiet ride—ideal for day use, extended cruising, or fishing adventures from Puget Sound to Southeast Alaska. With her 13’ beam, the 3480 offers a remarkably stable platform that handles rough water confidently, making it popular among anglers, adventurers, and weekend cruisers. Twin Mercruiser stern drives allow her to cruise comfortably around 18 knots (top speed in the mid 20 knot range), with impressive fuel economy compared to similarly sized monohulls. The hull design, with sharp entry and deep V at the bows, slices through chop to deliver a smooth and quiet ride.
KIND OF BLUE offers a surprisingly spacious and practical layout for a boat of her size. The catamaran configuration allows for two staterooms—one in each hull—with the guest stateroom and galley in the starboard hull and master stateroom and spacious head in the port hull. In between the hulls, the pilothouse features excellent visibility from the helms and the dinette. This space flows directly into her cockpit, which is massive compared to other boats of her length and is ideal for fishing or entertaining. Storage space above and below deck is well configured and suited for long term cruising. She is nicely appointed with solid teak cabinets and good construction details that will stand the test of time.

Deck and Hull
The deck of the Glacier Bay 3480 is designed for functionality and comfort, with a focus on ease of movement and safety at sea. The large aft cockpit is uncluttered and well-suited for fishing, entertaining, or lounging, featuring integrated seating, flush-mounted rod holders, and in-deck storage lockers. There is a boarding gate to the swim platform at the starboard side. Forward and to port, the countertop lifts to provide access to a counter with built in BBQ and sink. There is a icemaker and storage below. Steps lead to the side decks with sturdy handrails that provide secure passage to the bow. There is good deck space and access to the anchor windlass. The Furuno radar antenna and a solar panel are mounted on the cabin top.
The Glacier Bay 3480 is built with a focus on strength, durability, and performance, utilizing hand-laid fiberglass construction and high-quality resins throughout. The twin-hull design is engineered with solid fiberglass below the waterline for impact resistance. The hulls below the floor are injected with urethane flotation foam to provide floatation. Structural bulkheads are fully bonded to both hulls, enhancing rigidity and distributing loads evenly. The deep, symmetrical hulls are designed for efficient, low-drag performance and feature substantial lifting strakes and chines to improve handling and reduce spray. Her overall construction gives her a quiet ride that’s well-suited to offshore conditions.
