Footloose is the desirable owner’s version with a hardtop, carbon mast with an aluminum boom, and bowsprit. She has been lovingly cared for and is a proven passagemaker.
Like all of the Catana 471s, she has many innovations including total mainsail management from the safety of the cockpit via a two speed electric winch, wide clean flat decks with all sail controls lead aft under the deck, and no lines or hatches to trip over. Along with that, Catana’s “ocean view” port lights provide excellent ventilation and incredible views.
In addition to the long list of Catana’s standard equipment, Footloose was upgraded with a carbon mast, and Harken winches and deck hardware. Her main winch and primaries are electric. She underwent a refit in 2016 that included standing and running rigging, mast and boom paint, Hydranet mainsail and genoa, symmetrical spinnaker, new furler and foil, two air conditioning units, refrigeration and freezer, stove, electronics, and lithium batteries.
Her second refit in 2022 included hull painted with LPU, all new teak treads on the transom, teak toe rails, teak cockpit locker tops, stainless steel handrails, teak bow seats and two new hot water heaters.
This second owner has cruised Footloose and regularly upgraded her as needed.

The daggerboard trunks were over engineered to be seven times stronger than the daggerboards. All of the structural bulkheads were cored with Nidacore honeycomb core with carbon fiber on both sides.
