Interior Accomodations

Forward, there is a V-berth with a hanging locker and storage compartments. There are two LED reading lights and a large deck hatch allowing lots of light and great ventilation into the cabin.

Aft of the V-berth is the main salon that has a lofty 6’ 3” of headroom and a large U-shaped settee on the starboard side and a lengthwise settee on the port side. The dinette table allows six people to comfortably sit and enjoy a meal and has some accessible storage in the center of the table. The starboard settee converts to a double berth for additional functionality and the port settee doubles as seating for the nav station. The main salon has lots of compartments for safe stowage and adequate handholds throughout the main cabin for safety in a bumpy seaway. The large wall mounted flat screen TV has a Bose speaker for movie night entertainment. The Webasto heater control is on the starboard bulkhead and vents into every cabin space on the boat.

Moving aft, the L shaped galley is compact with good counter space, lots of storage and good lighting. The white surfaces provide brightness and are easy to clean and care for. The refrigerator is deep and well insulated with a large countertop access door. Above the stove is a small hatch for ventilation

The aft cabin is in the starboard quarter under the cockpit seating just aft of the galley. There is 5’ 10” of standing headroom here and a large rectangular bunk very comfortable for guests. This cabin also has a hanging locker for storage and an access port to the engine compartment.

The head is on the port side opposite the galley. It offers good lighting and ventilation as well as shower stall with a plexiglass door. There is adequate storage behind the sink and good access to plumbing below. The Jabsco marine toilet has a household size bowl and is plumbed directly into the plastic holding tank behind the bulkhead. The holding tank is equipped with a gravity overboard discharge ¼ turn valve to a through hull and also a deck pump-out fitting. Aft of the toilet is access to the port storage locker. The Code 0 is stored there as well as two batteries and room for much more.

The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 379 is an exceptional sailing vessel and designed to be easily singlehanded. All halyards and control lines are lead aft to the cockpit and the German style, continuous mainsheet system is conveniently accessed from either helm station.

Deck and Hull

The deck layout of OptiMystic is uncluttered and well designed. All halyards are lead aft and under a cabin top cover to alleviate tripping hazards and prevent sun damage. The foredeck is open and the grippy non-skid provides good traction while walking the decks. The toe rail and double stainless lifelines also contribute to a secure feeling while on deck. Just aft of midships, there is a gate in the lifelines for boarding.

In the cockpit there is teak decking on the cockpit sole, seats and swim platform. The center cockpit table is a great storage area and also provides good handholds. The table leaves fold out of the way so maneuvering around the cockpit isn’t as tight. The sturdy stainless framed canvas dodger shelters the companionway from any spray but allows plenty of visibility through the three clear panels. Also for good visibility, the chart plotter is mounted on the aft side of the table and is easy to see from either of the twin helm stations. The helm stations also have lockers under them for great storage; the starboard side has two 20lb propane bottles and the port side has deep storage for fenders or docklines and also stows the nifty purchase system for lowering the swim platform safely. Once lowered, a nice wide platform offers an exceptional space for dinghy loading and swimming. Another storage feature of this boat is between the helm stations, beneath the deck, is an area for a life raft.
