RELENTLESS is an Australian built yacht and a rare find in the United States. She is a highly regarded racing and cruising sailboat with ample head room (6’2’’). This sturdy, light to moderate displacement sloop should be on your short list for a racer/cruiser that is fully capable of both.
RELENTLESS is designed and built by Sydney Yachts. Known for its balance between performance, comfort, and handling, the Sydney 32 was created by the renowned design team Murray Burns Dovell (MBD), who specialize in successful racing yachts. Primarily intended as a competitive club racer, it also offers versatility for comfortable cruising. Its fractional rig setup provides an easy-to-handle sail plan, offering an excellent balance between racing performance and cruising convenience with below deck comfort.
The Sydney 32 narrow sleek fiberglass hull, paired with a fin keel and spade rudder, ensures maximum maneuverability and speed in a range of wind conditions. Its racing pedigree is evident in its handling, with quick acceleration and responsive helm control. She has Grand Prix features like integral carbon fiber chainplates. The chainplates are molded into a one-piece laminated structural grid that incorporates the keel attachment, mast step, engine mount, and rudder bearing as seen on America’s cup boats.
The boat performs well both upwind and downwind thanks to its fractional rig, which allows for precise sail trim and adaptability. She has great speed potential, simple sail handling systems and strong construction with decked rigged to keep loads low, easily sailed by a shorthanded crew. At the same time, she offers comfortable, beautifully finished accommodations, best of both worlds.
