The Marc Lombard designed Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 349 is truly an impressive boat for her size both in terms of performance and cruising comfort. Clarity is configured with the desirable two stateroom layout which accommodates a roomy head and separate shower stall, plus a large “garage” locker, a perfect arrangement for a couple or small family. Below decks, she feels bright and airy as a result of her modern interior finish and ample natural light from large portlights and hull side windows. On deck, once again she lives far larger than her 34 feet, with twin wheels allowing an easy walk through to her fold down swim platform. A long waterline, hard chines, deep fin keel and high aspect rig with fat head mainsail provide exciting sailing performance, with twin rudders giving solid control even in powered up conditions.
Clarity features the optional Excellence Pack, Offshore Electronics Pack and Performance Pack. Her outfitting includes a full Raymarine electronics package including radar and AIS, genoa and square top mainsail in performance cloth, Code 0 and A2 gennaker sails flown from fixed bowsprit, Webasto diesel heat, Iverson’s Designs dodger and many other options. She is in like new condition with only 140 hours on her Yanmar diesel engine.

Interior Accommodations
Clarity’s interior is the desirable two stateroom layout. This arrangement allows the would-be third cabin space to be dedicated to a large separate shower stall and interior accessed “garage” storage area. She will sleep six in two private cabins and two single berths in the salon.
Her interior has a modern feel with light wood and a liberal use of white overhead and hull panels, nicely accented by cream colored upholstery. Large cabin side and hull windows provide lots of light below. There are curtains for all windows and built in Oceanair screens/blinds on the hatches.
The forward cabin features a v-berth with storage below. Double doors close to make this cabin a private space when necessary but otherwise allow an open feel. There is a locker to port and small bench to starboard aft of the berth. Shelves run along the port and starboard hull sides.
The salon is arranged with straight settees to port and starboard and a fixed drop leaf table at the center. There is storage at the center of the table, beneath and outboard of the settees. The aft facing nav station is located at the aft end of the port settee. The VHF radios, stereo and electrical distribution panel are located here.
The galley is to starboard, with an L-shaped counter. There is a single bin stainless sink, large top loading refrigeration compartment and two burner propane stove protected by a stainless crash bar. Lots of storage is available outboard along the hull side in various lockers and in two lockers below the counter. A trash bin is mounted on the locker door below the sink.
The aft cabin features a quarter berth style bed with a shelf running along the hull side. Storage is available in a locker and open cubby forward. There is lots of light in this cabin as a result of the big hatch opening into the cockpit.
One of the highlights of this boat is the head with large separate shower stall. There is a counter with sink and mirror at the forward end. The toilet is aft and outboard. A smoked acrylic door separates the shower stall from the head compartment. The shower head is mounted on a sliding bar in the inboard wall. Outboard, there is an open shelf for storage.
A door through the shower leads into the garage space, a large open storage area that provide ample room for all the toys a cruiser needs. This space can also be accessed via a hatch in the cockpit.

Deck & Hull
Clarity’s hull is constructed of solid fiberglass with a fiberglass structural grid. Her deck is cored with end grain balsa. She features the deep fin keel and twin rudders that allow excellent control in all conditions. Her Selden aluminum mast is deck stepped with aft swept spreaders and no backstay, allowing for a fat head mainsail and creating more cockpit space aft. At the bow, her anchor is stored on a stainless roller with the anchor windlass located inside the deck accessed anchor locker. Double lifelines and a composite faux-teak toe rail surround the deck. Floating leads are used for the genoa and mainsail, simplifying the deck layout. A Iverson’s Designs canvas dodger with stainless handrails protects the cockpit. The cockpit seats and sole are covered in teak. Central to the cockpit forward is a drop leaf table. The cockpit is open aft with the twin (composite) wheel arrangement providing an easy walk through to the fold down transom. The mainsheet and genoa sheets lead to the primary winches near the helm, providing the helmsman immediate access.
