The 1995 Shannon 43 boasts a timeless and elegant interior that showcases a blend of classic craftsmanship with modern amenities for comfortable living at sea. Grace is configured as the ultimate offshore passagemaker for a couple with an emphasis on comfort, safety and extensive storage. When stepping below deck, you immediately sense the warm ambiance created by the rich woodwork and meticulous attention to detail. The spacious and inviting interior is filled with natural light, Herreshoff styled white bulkheads with spruce battens, cherry trim, and a teak and holly cabin sole. The use of high-quality materials contributes to the boat’s luxurious atmosphere.

Grace has been lovingly under the same care for the past 20 years and sailed locally. Whether it is sailing around her local cruising grounds or stretching her legs a bit farther out to sea, she is ready for her next adventure. Her systems are classic and functional with room for customization. She received fresh bottom paint in September 2023 and her bronze through hulls were checked over. Grace is located at her home berth in Friday Harbor and is ready for showing by appointment.

Interior accommodations

Beginning forward, there is a large V-berth style bunk that measures 6’5”. Teak battens line the hull with a linear shelf that runs the length of the bunk on each side. All the way forward is a louvered panel that provides access to the anchor locker. A 12V cabin fan is mounted on the forward bulkhead to maintain airflow in the cabin. In the overhead there is a square deck hatch with a custom screen trimmed in satin varnished teak. Warm LED dome lights and two reading lights provide inviting brightness to the space. Storage is available under the head of the bunk in four drawers.

The head and shower compartment is next aft and can be closed off to the V-berth and the main cabin, which creates one large forward stateroom. The toilet is to starboard in one compartment and the shower stall is next aft. Opposite on the port side is a vanity with stainless sink and single action faucet with pressurized hot and cold water. Above is a single cabinet and mirror. A teak hand towel bar is mounted on the forward bulkhead. Storage is below the sink via three drawers and a cabinet that houses plumbing. Aft of the vanity is a full length storage locker for shoes and hanging items.

A solid teak privacy door divides the main cabin from the forward accommodations. Mounted on the forward port bulkhead are a chrome Weems & Plath barometer and a ships clock, and a similarly finished oil lamp is mounted on the starboard bulkhead. Along the port side of the hull is a bookshelf followed by a cabinet with built-in storage for wine, cocktail glasses and liquor bottles. Hand crafted louvered doors conceal this area making it functional while under way. Aft of this is a large display shelf and additional storage. Mounted on the aft bulkhead with a tiled backsplash is a solid fuel cabin furnace. This home-y addition creates a comforting and warm space to curl up with a good book when the weather doesn’t allow for passages. The linear settee is 7-feet long and is a pullman style and makes for an excellent sea berth. The large drop leaf salon table flips up to service both settees for a meal. The starboard side L-shaped settee pulls out to form a double berth. Total seating around the table is 8+. Outboard behind the settee is storage with some shelving for books. There is also a built-in cabinet with louvered teak doors. Bronze portlights and two overhead hatches let natural light into the space, each with custom screens. Each detail piece of teak is finished with satin varnish and accentuates the fine craftsmanship and high standards Shannon yachts were built to. The crisp white overhead panels are held in place by teak battens and three handrails are available.

The U-shaped galley is situated on the starboard side. It features a double basin stainless sink, three burner Force-10 stove/oven and a large ice box situated on the aft side. In the forward outboard corner there is storage for pots and pans and above along the hull is storage for dishes.

Opposite the galley space is the forward facing navigation station. The nav desk has a large chart table with a flip up top and outboard there is a bookshelf to store over a dozen nautical books. The AC/DC electrical distribution panel, Northstar chartplotter, radar, sailing and communication instruments are easily accessed from the swing out nav seat.

Behind both the galley and nav station are separate entrances to the engine room. There is plentiful storage, and access to the engine from both sides. From here there is room to access the through hulls, autopilot and store all necessary tools.
