Interior accommodations

Beginning forward is the enclosed v-berth cabin. The cabin is cozy and welcoming with teak battens along the hull and shelves that run the length of the bunk. The cushions are 73” long and accommodate two people. Below the bunk is storage for some large items and home to the holding tank and plastic water tank. Overhead is the 20” opening hatch for light and ventilation.

Just aft and outside the cabin is the head with a sliding pocket door for privacy from both the main cabin and additional bi-fold door to the v-berth. Both doors are made of high quality marine plywood with thick teak veneers. A teak grate provides a solid flat surface over the turn of the bilge. On the port side is the manual flush Jabsco toilet. Above is a plumbed sink that slides out of the way with manual fresh water pump. Above and outboard is a small cabinet for toiletries. A small opening hatch is available for ventilation. To starboard in this space is a hanging locker and shelved cabinet.

The main salon is next aft and provides a cozy reprieve after sailing in the shoulder season when evenings are brisk; crank on the Dickenson cabin heater and enjoy a slow evening in a quiet anchorage. The linear settee on the starboard side is a generous single bunk with the back rest flipped up, it is 78” long. To starboard is a U-shaped settee situated around a teak table comfortably seating six for dinner. This table drops down for an additional double bunk. Outboard are 2 cubbies and book storage. Teak grab rails are situated on the port and starboard overhead for moving about the cabin while underway. Cabin height on centerline is 70” on center.

All the way aft on the port side of cabin is the consolidated galley. There is a small stainless sink with manual water by way of a foot pump. In the corner of the countertop is access to the insulated icebox. Facing outboard there is a two-burner gimballed stove. Above and below is storage for galley items and dishes. On the aft bulkhead is a small teak storage box and paper towel holder.

Across the cabin is the forward-facing navigation station with opening top and storage below the desk in four drawers. Outboard is communication and electrical management equipment. The seat is formed by the head of the quarter berth which is tucked into the starboard aft hull. The bunk is 73” long.

The companionway is three small steps down into the cabin from the cockpit. Removing the forward panel reveals the front of the Volvo engine which is also accessible by the hinged cockpit panel providing excellent access.
