Overview

There were several interior options for Valiant 42s. Barlavento has the most popular Center Entry Queen layout.

As you come down the companionway, a double quarter berth is located to port. The head with a separate shower stall is to starboard. Moving forward, the galley is to port and the forward-facing sit-down navigation table is to starboard.  The main saloon contains a center line drop leaf table. It has an L-shaped settee to port which makes into a pull-out double berth with lee cloth and a straight settee to starboard with lee cloth which makes into a single berth.  The forward cabin has two seats, a hanging locker to port, a storage locker with shelves to starboard, and a V-berth for two. Cabinetry port and starboard provide ample storage for clothing, linens, and personal gear.

Anchoring

• Valiant massive stainless steel bow anchor pulpit
• Lighthouse 1501 electric windlass for 5/16” HT chain to starboard and rope gypsy to port. Deck mounted up/down switches. Handheld remote control.
• Anchor saltwater washdown system with intake, strainer, and pump in the forepeak storage area
• Primary anchor is a Spade S160 77lb anchor with 300’ 5/16th Acco HT chain. Chain very little used. Connected using Mantus Universal 1/4" – 5/16" chain swivel.
• Secondary anchor is Fortress FX-37 (21 lbs). Rode is 50’ of 5/16” Acco HT chain and 300' 5/8" white nylon MegaBraid II. The anchor is stowed in SFX-37 Stowaway Bag in cockpit locker.
• Stern anchor is Fortress FX-23 (15 lbs). Rode is 300' 5/8" white nylon MegaBraid II. The stern anchor is stowed on a custom stern bracket. The rode is stowed in a dedicated locker.
