Bob Perry’s Valiant 40 design defined the modern performance cruiser. The Valiant 42, created when Valiant moved to Gordonville, Texas, gave Perry the chance to update the original 40 design and for builder Rich Worstell to update its construction. The result was a stiffer, more powerful, and better performing cruiser that retained and improved upon the remarkable look and reputation of the Valiant 40.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eBarlavento \u003c\/em\u003eis hull number 179 and was built in 2008. Her maintenance — both mechanical and cosmetic — has been superlative.
