Gerty is hull no. 3 of the Allures 45.9 series. She was delivered in August of 2017 at the Allures/Garcia Shipyard in Cherbourg, France. After a three-week shakedown cruise in Normandy, Gerty was shipped from Southampton to Baltimore and displayed at the 2017 US Sailboat Show in Annapolis Maryland. For the next three years, Gerty was based in Mamaroneck, NY cruising New England in the summers and storing covered ashore in the winter. In the fall of 2020 Gerty sailed to the Caribbean with the Salty Dawg Rally finishing just behind two very large and fast monohulls. In May of 2021 Gerty crossed the Atlantic and spent the next two years cruising the Med. In the fall of 2022 the owners returned to the Caribbean via the Canaries, Gambia, and Cape Verde Islands. All ocean passages have been completed doublehanded by the owner/couple.

Gerty's owners are an architect/designer and nurse; the perfect cruising couple combination. Their original options order and post-delivery upgrades collectively make Gerty a perfect balance of cruising comfort and passage performance while prioritizing reliability and ease of maintenance.
