The J/109 should be on your short list for owning a racer/cruiser that is fully capable in both categories. MOUNTAIN handles remarkably well, as any self-respecting J-Boat should. Her almost vertical bow, flat shearline and open transom allude to her performance but sitting in the cockpit or main salon you can easily transition into cruising mode. MOUNTAIN sails well in little wind and putting her retractable carbon pole to use, flying the asymmetrical spinnaker is a breeze for an afternoon sail or around the buoys for a weekend regatta. Even Bob Perry agrees; in his review for Sailing Magazine “A well-designed 35-footer that does it all.” MOUNTAIN has been outfitted primarily for short handed racing and would be great for local cruising too. The interior layout has a full galley, two cabins and single head. Her main cabin has 6’ of headroom, lots of daylight and a cozy salon for about six people, eight if you’re friendly. Highlights:
- Wallas cabin heater
- 100 watts of solar power
- Hot water heater
- Garmin AIS
