The dedication that designer Bill Dixon and Ta Shing have to superior build quality and detail produce some of the most sought after blue water cruising boats on the market today. The Taswell 49 does not disappoint. With performance in mind, \u003cem\u003eEndeavor\u003c\/em\u003e sails well both on and off the wind and has exceptional interior accommodations. She has a spacious main salon, three staterooms and two heads both with separate showers. The satin-varnished interior, vinyl-lined headliner, port lights and deck hatches provide a well-lit, elegant, and inviting space. The center cockpit is safe and secure while passagemaking and beneath it, is the easily accessed engine space. The interior cabinets are cedar lined; many of which have lighting inside. These details prove once again that craftsmanship and attention to detail are second to none.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eIn 2011, shortly after \u003cem\u003eEndeavor’s\u003c\/em\u003e current owners purchased her, she underwent a major refit. All systems were gone over with a fine-toothed comb and replaced or repaired. On the mechanical side, a new Cummins Onan 6kW generator was installed and the Yanmar engine pulled from its mounts, inspected and top end rebuilt. The engine room was cleaned and repainted. The shaft was pulled, straightened, and cutlass bearing replaced and new dripless shaft seal installed. The rudder was dropped from the boat for major repair and replacement of the bearings and shaft. On the electrical side, the whole system was inspected, mapped and re-worked. New Magnum inverter was installed, along with new house batteries and wiring throughout the boat. The bonding system and shore power were gone through and a new galvanic isolator installed and many thru hulls replaced.
