Step aboard Red Jacket at Classic Weekend in Seattle
The 72-foot (62 on deck) schooner Red Jacket will be available for viewing throughout the weekend at Bell Harbor Marina. Part of the marquee class of boats that were all built by Seattle’s iconic N.J. Blanchard Boat Company, the boat will be open for public tours between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m on June 16th and 17th.
Red Jacket (formerly Katedna) was the first yacht to be built by the well-regarded Blanchard on Seattle’s Lake Union. Designed by Ted Geary, another Pacific Northwest yachting icon, she has been a fixture on Puget Sound waters the majority of her nearly 100 years of sailing.
The event is free and includes over 50 classic wooden vessels from around the Pacific Northwest.
