Sargo is a blue water cruiser’s dream. Her beauty lies in her form and function rather than glistening topside paint, varnished caprails and decorator canvas. Nothing shouts out “serious cruising yacht” like an unpainted aluminum hull, hard dodger, scoop stern, stern arch, solar panels and steering-vane. Built by the renowned Garcia Shipyard in France to the proven and popular Passoa design series, Sargo has been optimized for sailing performance with high quality Antal winches and sailing hardware, performance sails, and low-stretch, Dyneema running rigging. Her original, Italian owner was a veteran offshore shorthanded sailor who sailed between Europe and Panama. Her second/current owners of the last five years spent many years refitting and cruising long distance on a Valiant 40. Based on this experience, they recognized the great design/build of this Garcia. After purchasing Sargo in Panama in 2012, they sailed home to New England and optimized the interior and systems for long range cruising. A winter 2015/2016 season in the Bahamas proved this boat’s mettle. Returning home to New England, Sargo was stored on the hard under a Fairclough cover, where she remains today. Other demands are keeping the owners close to home and they’ve reluctantly decided to sell Sargo with the hope of finding a new owner that will venture forth and enjoy this very capable, world voyaging yacht.
