Moving on up: Sceptre 41 to Outbound 46

Moving on up: Sceptre 41 to Outbound 46

Where is a boat owner to go after owning and cruising one of the nicest Sceptre 41s on the market — one that is super clean, with custom oak interior and fully kitted out with electric winch, solar, wind, watermaker, SSB and all new electronics?

It’s a tough question. But when more space is needed for the kids and grandkids who want to visit in tropical locales, the obvious answer would be a newer Outbound 46.

The switch is understandable, as both vessels share many similar characteristics including walk-through transom, protected cockpit with windshield/hard dodger, lots water and fuel tankage, huge deck and interior accessed storage, large cabin ports opening to a raised-level salon. And the list could go on.

Aeolian’s gorgeous interior.

Jerry & Jane purchased their 1990 Sceptre 41 in 2014 from Swiftsure Yachts and lovingly outfitted it for extended cruising.  After two seasons in Mexico they realized just how much they liked the cruising lifestyle and that a larger boat would allow them to share the experience with their visiting children and grandchildren. So, when a clean 2015 Outbound 46 returned from its two-year Pacific cruise, they jumped at the opportunity to purchase this proven cruiser.

We wish them many happy miles and years of cruising on Shamaal and promise to find a good home for Aeolian, their “seriously for sale” Sceptre 41.
